July 27, 2009	Thelema NOW! podcast launched U.S. Grand Lodge is very pleased to announce the launch of Thelema NOW!, a monthly podcast on Aleister Crowley, ritual, and magick. The first installment features an interview with Jim Wasserman, author of The Secrets of Masonic Washington and Secret Societies: Illuminati, Freemasons, and the French Revolution. He speaks with host Frater Puck about what it means to be a true American.

April 10, 2009	New Public Information Officer U. S. Grand Lodge has a new Public Information Officer, Frater Lux Ad Mundi. He can be reached by email at pio@oto-usa.org; additional contact information is available on the government page. The Public Information Officer (PIO) coordinates inquiries and requests from representatives of the media and other institutions who are interested in obtaining more information about O.T.O. The PIO also fields information requests from the membership and the general public, and is available to assist local body officers with handling information requests.

International has published an obituary. Unto Brother Alan may there be granted the accomplishment of his Will; yea, the accomplishment of his Will.
August 4, 2008	Registration opens for Kaaba Colloquium in Ogden Kaaba Colloquium is a leadership training workshop presented twice each year by U.S. Grand Lodge. It is offered to all current and aspiring local body leaders of at least I°. Registration is now open for the Fall 2008 Kaaba, to be held in Ogden, Utah over the weekend of October 25-26.
July 9, 2008	USGL annual report released United States Grand Lodge of Ordo Templi Orientis has released its annual report for Anno IV_xv (fiscal year 2007). The document includes statistical measures of USGL's status and perfomance over the past year.
March 5, 2008	"Mystics, Mothers, and Magicians" symposium registration opens Registration is now open for the "Mystics, Mothers, and Magicians" symposium, to be held in Sacramento, CA on November 14-16 2008. This celebration of the divine feminine is open to OTO members of all genders; there is also one presentation which will be offered to the public. January 30, 2008	It's back: The USGL bookstore! The U.S. Grand Lodge bookstore is back in business and better than ever. We are now an Amazon affiliate, which means you can shop at Amazon and earn money for O.T.O. at no extra cost to you. We offer a specialty bookstore carrying titles of interest to Thelemites, but there are also links directly to the Amazon site; purchases made either way will earn us money. Thelemic bibliophiles (which is probably redundant) can now expand their libraries and help the Order at the same time.
January 30, 2008	Register for Kaaba Colloquium in Philadelphia Kaaba Colloquium is a leadership training program for current and aspiring O.T.O. local body officers. The next Kaaba will be held in Philadelphia, PA on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-25 2008. Registration is now open for this event; see the Kaaba website for a registration link and hotel information.
January 30, 2008	Pastoral Counseling Workshop in Chicago, March 8-9 2008 Pastoral Counseling Workshops are offered periodically by the Psychology Guild of O.T.O. The Workshop provides training in counseling and mediation issues which members of the E.G.C. clergy and other O.T.O. leaders may encounter. October 16, 2007	Clearing the Templar record Just in time for the seven hundredth anniversary of the mass arrest of the Knights Templar, the Vatican has published documents which indicate that Pope Clement V absolved the Templars of heresy. Apparently the relevant document had been misfiled for several centuries. Jacques de Molay, thou art acquitted!.

June 25, 2007	The Path of Mediation An article titled The Path of Mediation was serialized in five parts in recent issues of Agapé. This article describes every aspect of the O.T.O. system of justice and mediation, and is an indispensable resource for all members. For convenient reference, all five parts of this article are now combined into a single special web-only edition of Agapé. This edition includes a few minor updates and corrections, but is essentially the same material as that which was originally published.

May 22, 2007	Online bookstore temporarily out of service The OTO US Grand Lodge online bookstore is out of service due to a change in the Barnes and Noble affiliate program in which we were participating. A new affiliate arrangement is being made, and the bookstore will be back in business as soon as possible.
April 24, 2007	USGL Library lending policies Lending policies have been announced for the USGL Library. See the policies page for details on who is eligible and how the loan process works.
April 15, 2007	USGL Library catalog online U.S. Grand Lodge maintains a library of books, periodicals, and other materials of interest to O.T.O. members. A catalog of this collection is now available online. A system for lending from the library to members is being designed; watch for updates here.

September 3, 2006	New library Thanks to the labor and skill of our site librarian Craig Dickson, a new online OTO library is available for your reading pleasure. Over the coming weeks, the old library section on the main site will be phased out in favor of the new dedicated library subsite (lib.oto-usa.org). Links to the old documents will continue to work through automatic redirects to the newer versions on the library subsite.
August 31, 2006	OTO International Cabinet appointments From Frater Superior Hymenaeus Beta Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. In April 2006 e.v., at the Areopagus meeting held in Sydney, Australia, I had the pleasure of announcing the formation of the international OTO Cabinet. The OTO Constitution (Reuss 1917 e.v.) had made provisions for a Cabinet for the international OTO. His model was adapted slightly in our Bylaws to provide for a body of nonmember advisors. While Cabinet members will not be privy to membership or initiation-related materials, or able to speak for OTO, it was thought that they could assist the Order by advising on issues relating to the general curriculum and bylaws, as well as their varied specialist areas of expertise. As implemented in our Bylaws, the Cabinet is not a voting body, being purely advisory. Membership in the Cabinet is not restricted beyond a ceiling of twelve members, and appointees can have differing religious affiliations. The Frater Superior, Secretary General and Treasurer General are ex officio members of the Cabinet. The initial non-member appointments are Prier Wintle (South Africa), David Michael Tibet (UK) and Harvey Bialy, Ph.D. (Mexico), all of whom have longstanding involvement with Thelema. I am very grateful to Messrs. Wintle and Tibet and Dr. Bialy for their willingness to lend their advice on how OTO might best ensure the enduring success of the Order, and enhance the effectiveness of our primary mission, that of promulgating the Law of Thelema. August 12, 2006	NOTOCON VI: Request for Presentation Proposals Proposals are requested for presentations at the sixth National O.T.O. Conference, to be held in Salem, MA, August 10-12, 2007. Although workshops are welcome on all topics, we encourage presenters to address the conference theme, which is "Beauty and Strength." "Beauty and strength, leaping laughter and delicious languor, force and fire, are of us." — AL II:20 Full instructions for submitting a presentation proposal are available here. The deadline for proposals is September 1st, 2006.
August 11, 2006	Pastoral Counseling Workshop in New York City The next Pastoral Counseling Workshop will be held at Tahuti Lodge in New York City on the weekend of September 30 and October 1, 2006. This workshop is highly recommended for EGC clergy. See this page for more information.
August 7, 2006	Certified Initiator Training in Southern California Certified Initiator Training (including both ritual training and a Red Cross CPR and first aid course) will be offered at Blue Horizon Oasis in Glendale, California over the weekend of September 9-10, 2006. July 27, 2006	OTO Women's Symposium final schedule The revised schedule for the O.T.O. Women's Symposium, to be held on July 29-30 in Las Vegas, is now available. It differs significantly from earlier versions, so attendees are advised to consult it before finalizing plans for the weekend.
July 19, 2006	NOTOCON VI website launched The sixth National O.T.O. Conference will be held in Salem, Massachussetts on August 10-12, 2007. The theme of the conference will be "Beauty and Strength". The NOTOCON VI website is now available. Watch that site for the latest information about the conference.
July 11, 2006	Vision and values In the course of its work, the U.S. Grand Lodge Strategic Planning Committee has produced four statements which summarize our vision, values, and plans. Two of these (the Mission Statement and Program Synopsis) were already published on the U.S.G.L. website; the other two, the Vision and Values Statements, are now also available. All four can be found on the new planning page.
June 11, 2006	Tool updates Several new and changed tools are available through the U.S. Grand Lodge website. These include an upgrade to the Achad gematria tool which allows number to word conversions (as well as word to number, as previously); the Thelemic Timeserver for obtaining and converting dates in the Thelemic calendar; and a Google Earth overlay showing the locations of all local bodies in the U.S. See the tools page for links and more information.
May 17, 2006	Agape VIII:1 available The latest issue of Agapé, volume VIII number 1, is now available. Members of U.S. Grand Lodge will receive a paper copy in the mail within a few weeks.
May 15, 2006	Website repaired Repair work over the weekend of May 13-14 has restored the U.S. Grand Lodge website to full operation. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by the preceding week of partial functionality. If you find something that still doesn't work, please send an email describing the problem to webmaster@oto-usa.org.
May 11, 2006	Planned site downtime May 13-14 This weekend (May 13-14 2006) will be devoted to completing the repair of the OTO US Grand Lodge site. Planned activities will involve at least a cumulative hour of web downtime, and may result in sporadic email downtime as well. Another announcement will be made when the system is stable, most likely late Sunday evening.
May 8, 2006	Site problems During a planned software upgrade of the U.S. Grand Lodge website unexpected problems occurred, resulting in the site being down most of the weekend of May 6-7 2006. It is mostly back in working order now, but there are still some features (e.g., SSL support) that are not. Please don't bother reporting problems on the site for the next few days; you can safely assume they are going to be fixed soon.
May 5, 2006	Yahoogroups problems Yahoogroups appears to be having serious problems. Specifically, posts to groups are not being sent via email to members of those groups. It also appears that posts made via the web interface are not showing up in the list of messages on the group's web interface, though (oddly enough) posts sent in via email are there. This is of concern because OTO makes heavy use of Yahoogroups for internal communication. I am monitoring the situation closely, and will advise when it is resolved. Meanwhile, OTO coordination activities normally reliant on Yahoogroups should instead be conducted through direct email or some other channel.

April 19, 2006	Long live the King! Word has reached us from the Land Down Under that a new Grand Lodge of O.T.O. has been chartered for Australia and its Territories, headed by Frater Shiva X°. O.H.O. Hymenaeus Beta XII° ceremonially presented Frater Shiva X° to the Order at a celebratory Gnostic Mass held on April 16 in Newtown, Sydney, Australia. Our own Frater Sabazius X°, Soror Helena, and Frater SLQ assisted Frater Shiva to initiate his Grand Lodge officers into the VII°. U.S. Grand Lodge joins with O.T.O. members worldwide in saluting Frater Shiva X° and the entire Australian O.T.O. for this epochal achievement. Let us raise a toast to honor, to glory, and to the King!
February 7, 2006	OTO Women's Symposium registration opens The OTO Women's Symposium will be held on July 29-30, 2006 at the Gold Coast Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. All women and men of the O.T.O. are invited to join us as we celebrate and explore the Divine Feminine in the context of our Order. January 1, 2006	New Liber XV text The version of the text of Liber XV (the Gnostic Catholic Mass) previously available on this site has been retired in favor of the more accurate and useful annotated version maintained by Helena and Tau Apiryon. All links on this site have been changed to point to the latter version. Please do the same with any links on sites you control. The older version of the text will remain in place for approximately three months to allow an orderly transition.

November 30, 2005	Technical issue with USGL online bookstore Users of the Norton Internet Security application, and possibly of similar internet security tools, may not be able to see the cover graphics nor the titles of books on our bookstore page. This makes it impossible to buy anything on the page, or to reach bn.com to shop there while sending a small percentage of your purchase to U.S. Grand Lodge O.T.O. We are actively looking for a good long-term solution to this problem. For the moment, there are only two known ways to resolve the problem: Add the domains "bfast.com" and "service.bfast.com" to the security tool's list of allowed sites (that is, sites that will not be subject to blocking), or Temporarily deactivate the security tool on your system while accessing the bookstore. If you do this, please remember to reactivate the security tool immediately after you are done shopping. We apologize for this inconvenience. If a better solution to this problem is found and implemented, it will be announced here.

October 31, 2005	Agapé VII:3 available The November 2005 issue (vol. VII no. 3) of Agapé, a quarterly publication of U.S. Grand Lodge O.T.O., is now available online. U.S. O.T.O. members should receive a paper copy in the mail within a few weeks. Note that due to the inclusion of large graphics, this issue is nearly two megabytes in size, which is about three times larger than other recent issues; users on slow net connections should take this into account when downloading.
October 11, 2005	Kaaba Colloquium site launched The Kaaba Colloquium team is pleased to announce the launch of a website devoted to this valuable leadership-training program. Watch the site for bulletins about scheduled seminars, along with other information of interest to O.T.O. leaders.
August 31, 2005	Aid for displaced brethren O.T.O. members displaced by Hurricane Katrina can consult this page for information. Numerous local bodies and individuals are offering housing and other support to brethren in need.
August 16, 2005	NOTOCON V brings joy and beauty The long-awaited fifth biennial U.S. National O.T.O. Conference (NOTOCON) took place in Reston, Virginia, August 12-14 2005. The conference was extremely successful, attracting about two hundred O.T.O. members from all parts of the United States and several from other countries. A program featuring two Masses, three tracks of presentations, a formal banquet, and workshops on O.T.O. initiation rituals complemented the welcome opportunity to reconnect with old friends and to make new ones. U.S. Grand Lodge congratulates everyone who worked with tireless zeal to make NOTOCON V a brilliant success. Now we can all start planning for NOTOCON VI in August 2007, the location for which will be selected this winter.

June 12, 2005	Australian OTO fights defamation The Australian branch of O.T.O. is pursuing a legal case against several individuals who have publicly defamed O.T.O. and its members. Full information is available on their site (follow the link to the June press release), along with a request for donations to the Australian OTO legal fund to support this noble and important endeavor.
May 2, 2005	Long live the King! Word has reached this side of the Atlantic that a new Grand Lodge of O.T.O. has been chartered in the United Kingdom, headed by Frater Hyperion X°. Frater Spiritus will serve as Grand Secretary General, and Brother Rodney Orpheus as Grand Treasurer General. O.H.O. Hymenaeus Beta XII° ceremonially presented Frater Hyperion X° to the Order at a celebratory Gnostic Mass held on May 1 at Conway Hall in Red Lion Square. This happy event occurred 93 years to the month after the previous X° for the U.K., Aleister Crowley, was elevated to that office. U.S. Grand Lodge joins with O.T.O. members worldwide in saluting Frater Hyperion X° and the entire U.K. O.T.O. for this epochal achievement. Let us raise a toast to honor, to glory, and to the King!

April 28, 2005	Call for website tools As part of the ongoing upgrade of the O.T.O. U.S. Grand Lodge website, we have established a new separate page for software tools of interest to Thelemites. Right now, the only such tool on the site is Achad, a gematria calculator. We would like to add more tools to this list. If you have a tool to contribute, either as a link from another site or to be hosted on ours, please contact the webmaster (webmaster@oto-usa.org). Astrological and calendar tools would be especially welcome.
April 26, 2005	Education Committee solicits input The Education Committee of U.S. Grand Lodge O.T.O. was recently established as a standing committee per Section 10.01 of the U.S.G.L. bylaws. The Education Committee will research, discuss, and make recommendations on local body instructional curricula and materials, developing instructional standards and guidelines in order to support high quality local body class work. December 1, 2004	Books for the holidays The solstice holidays are fast approaching, and most of us will be buying gifts for our friends and families. If your shopping list includes books or music, please consider shopping online at Barnes & Noble through our OTO affiliate program. Books purchased from our bookstore earn us a significant commission. Or follow the links on that page into the B&N website and we'll earn a smaller (but still valuable) commission on anything you buy during that visit. Deck the halls with books by Crowley, qabala-la-la, la la la la!
November 10, 2004	New issue of Agapé published The November 2004 issue of Agapé, the official periodical of US Grand Lodge OTO, is now available online. US OTO members will also receive a printed copy by mail.
November 2, 2004	US Grand Lodge mission statement A program synopsis and a mission statement for US Grand Lodge have been approved by the Executive. These brief documents are the foundation of a more formal planning process currently being adopted by the officers of Grand Lodge in order to better serve our members and the great purposes of our Order.
October 11, 2004	NOTOCON 2005 request for proposals The National OTO Conference (NOTOCON) committee is soliciting proposals for presentations at NOTOCON 2005, to be held next August in Reston, Virginia.
September 12, 2004	Initiation memorization policy New Policy, effective January 1, 2005 e.v. for all U.S. local bodies: Initiatory officers in the Degree of Minerval shall memorize their parts in advance. Ritual scripts are prohibited within open Temple for the Minerval Degree, with the exception that one copy may be held by a prompter who is not otherwise a ritual officer. This policy does not apply to rehearsals. Similar policies will be phased in for the remaining degrees of the Man of Earth Triad in the coming months, with allowances made for the reading of certain specific passages.
August 8, 2004	Latest issue of Agapé available The latest issue of Agapé, the official journal of US Grand Lodge, is now available. This issue, Volume VI number 1, was mailed to OTO members in June; our apologies for the delay in putting it online.
July 17, 2004	Information Technology Guild chartered I am very happy to report that an Information Technology Guild has been chartered by OTO International. The Guild is still in the early stages of formation; we are currently building a charter membership for the sole purpose of choosing an initial board of directors. If you are interested in becoming involved in the ITG, watch this space and my blog for updates. We hope to have a permanent site for sharing this information established soon.
May 12, 2004	(untitled) The latest issue of Agapé, the official newsletter of US Grand Lodge OTO, is now available (PDF file, 666k). Paper copies should be in members' mailboxes shortly. This special double issue combines numbers 3 and 4 of volume V. This and all other issues of Agapé are available via the documents page.
May 2, 2004	(untitled) The obsolete otohq.org domain has been officially retired. An error page now appears for any attempt to access that domain. We will leave that page up for at least a month in the hope that some stragglers may see it and update their links and bookmarks.
April 29, 2004	(untitled) This site has moved to a new and far more capable host, which will allow us to offer more and better services to our members and visitors. March 20, 2004	(untitled) Today marks the centennial of the Equinox of the Gods, the dawn of the New Æon of Thelema. Celebrations are ongoing at OTO bodies throughout the world, and will continue through the Three Days of the Writing of the Book of the Law on April 8th, 9th, and 10th. Joy and success to all Thelemites from US Grand Lodge, and may our second century outshine our first!

April 22, 2003	(untitled) There are now two ways to get information about US OTO local bodies. The traditional local bodies list is a compact listing of bodies by name, city, and state, best used as a basic body search tool and as a launching point for visits to local body websites. The new local body directory contains all contact information for every body on a single page (including web, email, and postal addresses). The directory can be reached from a link on the bodies list page.
