US Local Bodies

The map above shows the approximate locations of all O.T.O. local bodies in the United States. Click on a marker to see a popup with the name and contact information for that body. Please keep these points in mind when using this map:

  • Some of the locations shown correspond to the street addresses of actual temple facilities, but others are mail drops or post offices. Thus, zooming the map in too far is of limited value. Be sure to check the local body website or contact its officers for accurate address information.
  • Several urban areas have clusters of bodies located close together. On the larger-scale maps (including the default initial view) this causes some body markers to hide others. Zooming in on a particular area will sometimes reveal previously hidden body markers.
  • This map is powered by the Google Maps facility, and all of the usual controls work as expected. For example, you can drag the map to move it around, and double-click on a point to center it.

Camps in Formation

The Electoral College of U.S. Grand Lodge encourages the development of new local bodies in unserved areas of the country. Its "Camps in Formation" program recognizes individuals who are attempting to organize such bodies. Other prospective members in such areas may wish to contact the organizers to assist in the Camp formation process. The E.C. maintains a list of current Camp in Formation organizers and their locations.

Other formats

Local body information is also available in a variety of other formats:

  • A directory containing all contact information for every local body on a single page.
  • A Google Earth overlay showing body locations. This requires that you have Google Earth installed before clicking the link. If you add the resulting folder to your "My Places" collection, it will automatically stay up to date as local body information changes.

Terminology

Note that the terms Camp (or sometimes Encampment), Oasis, and Lodge simply refer to the three categories of OTO local bodies. Camps tend to be smallest and generally do not perform initiations; Oases are larger and initiate through III°; Lodges are larger still and initiate through IV°/P∴I∴. There are some exceptions to this pattern, but it holds more often than not.

Reporting body information changes

If you are a local body officer and want to report new or changed contact information, please see the local body website policy page for instructions.
